Comparison of intercept trap fluids and aerial spore collectors to survey fungal spores

چکیده

Surveillance for early detection of non-native, invasive pathogens requires simple, sturdy, and easy-to-use collecting devices. In this study, we compared the fungal species detected in wet collection cups Lindgren traps vs . those on slides with oiled cheesecloth as aerial spore collectors. DNA was extracted amplified from both using primers ITS1F gITS7, Illumina sequencing used metabarcoding fungi present samples. 90 samples, there were 1,277 operational taxonomic units (OTUs). For OTUs only by one method, insect had three times number to slides, pattern persisted when analyses restricted forest pathogens. Annually, thousands are deployed North America associated trap fluids have added value disease research monitoring.

a comparison of teachers and supervisors, with respect to teacher efficacy and reflection

supervisors play an undeniable role in training teachers, before starting their professional experience by preparing them, at the initial years of their teaching by checking their work within the proper framework, and later on during their teaching by assessing their progress. but surprisingly, exploring their attributes, professional demands, and qualifications has remained a neglected theme i...

Evaluation of hirst-type spore trap to monitor environmental fungal load in hospital

The main purpose was to validate the use of outdoor-indoor volumetric impaction sampler with Hirst-type spore traps (HTSTs) to continuously monitor fungal load in order to prevent invasive fungal infections during major structural work in hospital settings. For 4 weeks, outdoor fungal loads were quantified continuously by 3 HTSTs. Indoor air was sampled by both HTST and viable impaction sampler...

Fungal spores: hazardous to health?

Fungi have long been known to affect human well being in various ways, including disease of essential crop plants, decay of stored foods with possible concomitant production of mycotoxins, superficial and systemic infection of human tissues, and disease associated with immune stimulation such as hypersensitivity pneumonitis and toxic pneumonitis. The spores of a large number of important fungi ...

Protein synthesis during fungal spore germination. IV. Transfer ribonucleic acid from germinated and ungerminated spores.

Transfer ribonucleic acid (tRNA) fractions isolated from germinated and ungerminated spores of Botryodiplodia theobromae and Rhizopus stolonifer had acceptor activity for all 20 amino acids commonly found in protein, when tested with an enzyme fraction from germinated spores. Accordingly, it is unlikely that the absence of tRNA for a particular amino acid limits protein synthesis in fungal spores.
